2 killed when recreational vehicle strikes van in Little Falls - syracuse.com

Herkimer, N.Y. – A 33-year-old Little Falls man and his passenger were killed Sunday night after the recreational vehicle they were on struck a van.

According to state police at Herkimer, Jason C. Sullivan was driving a utility terrain vehicle west on Yellow Church Road in the town of Little Falls when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2009 Ford van headed south on State Route 170.

Sullivan and his passenger, Matthew A. Cotton, 37, of Herkimer, were thrown from the UTV and suffered critical injuries. Sullivan was taken to Little Falls Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Cotton was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he also was pronounced dead.

The driver of the van, Alexander M Stone, 23, of Little Falls was not injured.

Jason C. Sullivan was transported to Little Falls Hospital and was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
