A 42-year-old man was shot and wounded after he refused to hand over his belongings during a robbery Saturday morning in Little Village.
The victim was in the 3100 block of West Cermak Road around 9:14 a.m. when he was approached by another man who flashed a handgun and announced a robbery, Chicago police said.
After the victim refused to give up his valuables, a physical altercation ensued. That’s when the gunman fired one shot, striking the 42-year-old in the left hip, police said.
The suspect fled the scene southbound on Albany Avenue, police said.
The injured man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he is said to be in good condition, police said.
