After closing nearly a year ago to repair damage caused by a kitchen fire, Lenox Road steakhouse Little Alley Steak reopens Wednesday, September 16, at One Alliance Center in Buckhead.
Chefs at the restaurant tried to put out the fire last November, which began in a hood above one of the stoves. No one was injured in the fire, and the most serious damage was contained to the kitchen. Atlanta Fire and Rescue ruled the kitchen blaze accidental.
Owners Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac had hoped to reopen Little Alley-Buckhead earlier this winter, but those plans were further delayed by the pandemic.
“It’s been a challenge,” general manager Youssef Chakrani says in a prepared statement. “But we are excited to be back. We have lots of outdoor seating and the dining rooms will be properly spaced, so our guests will feel comfortable.”
Patrons of the restaurant will be required to wear masks when not seated at a table or at the bar, in accordance with Atlanta’s mask mandate. Little Alley plans to provide masks to people who forget to bring their own. A representative tells Eater, over a dozen sanitizing stations are located throughout the steakhouse and the patio. Seating will be limited during the pandemic, and plexiglass dividers have been installed between booths in the dining room.
Little Alley Steak-Buckhead opened two years ago, following the opening of chef Ian Winslade’s Mission and Market nearby at Three Alliance Center. This is the second location of Azhari and Kovac’s popular Roswell steakhouse on Canton Street. Little Alley Steak-Buckhead is triple the size, seating 250 people between two dining rooms, the bar, and a patio and outdoor bar.
