October is Italian Heritage Month. Time to hit the road for Little Italy San Jose’s annual festival — a socially distanced curbside event this year.

From 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 18, you can enjoy the sights, sounds — and most important, flavors — of Little Italy from the safety of your car.

Support the businesses in this historic district by ordering curbside pickup of your Sunday dinner. Options include eggplant parm, saltimbocca, seafood and more from Paesano Ristorante; wood oven-fired pizza and salad from Enoteca La Storia; barbecued ribs and tri-tip from Henry’s Hi-Life; and gelato, biscotti and coffee from Bel Bacio Cafe. The restaurants will also be offering wine specials to supplement your home feasts.

Preorders must be placed no later than Oct. 13; go to www.littleitalysj.com to find menus and details.

Bonus: Of course there will be an accordion, Little Italy president Joshua DeVincenzi Melander says. Look for young musician Lorenzo Lucchesi under the arch or strolling down Julian Street.
