3 Turkey Giveaways In Pilsen, Little Village Starting Thursday - Block Club Chicago

PILSEN — Community groups, local nonprofits and businesses will host three turkey giveaways before Thanksgiving in Pilsen and Little Village.

Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25th) will co-host a turkeys and fixings giveaway at 4-6 p.m. Thursday at New Vision Community Church, 2552 W. 21st St. in Little Village.

Sigcho-Lopez, New Vision Community Church, Cafe Jumping Bean and Meridian Health will also provide hygiene essentials and other resources during the drive-up and walk-up event. Items will be distributed to nearby residents on a first come, first served basis.

Separately, Pilsen Food Pantry will host a Thanksgiving dinner and winter coat giveaway from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 1850 S. Throop St. in Pilsen.

Items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. For those in need of winter gear ahead of time, organizers will open the Clothes Closet, located at the same location, where folks can select winter clothing items for free.

Next week, Realty of Chicago will host its 8th Annual Turkey Giveaway, in Pilsen and other Chicago neighborhoods on Tuesday, Nov. 24.  

The Pilsen giveaway will take place at 6 p.m. at 1504 W. 18th St. Other Turkey giveaways will take place  at 6 p.m. 5700 W. Belmont Ave. in Belmont Cragin, 3958 W. 63rd St. in West Lawn, and 6535 Cermak Road in suburban Berwyn.
