Future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony has made a major impact on so many of his teammates over the years, but specifically, for young players that grew up watching Melo, it’s even more special.
For Trail Blazers forward Nassir Little, seeing Melo’s return firsthand opened his eyes to even more possibilities.
As soon as the 36-year-old signed with the Blazers on November 19, and made his debut on the road at New Orleans his impact was felt.

Throughout the season, whether it was Little, Gary Trent Jr. or Anfernee Simons, the young Blazers discussed what it was like playing alongside a legend of the game.
Little recently joined Justin Myers on NBC Sports Northwest’s The Bridge to discuss what it was like to have a front-row seat to Melo’s return.
My biggest takeaway, man, is watching Carmelo come back and just watching him – the way he’s approached everything -- you just never count yourself out.

Little like many others in the NBA world, knew Melo would find a team after having a year away from the league.
I even said it before I met Carmelo, I was like, ‘there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be in the NBA.’
Not only did Little learn the ins and outs of being a master isolation player on the block or how to come up clutch and take control of games, but besides Melo’s moves on the court, Little took away the importance of Anthony’s perseverance.
“He just said, ‘he never accepted what people tried to make him accept,’ and I think that’s something that [can help] a lot of people in this league right now – Don’t just accept when people try to count you out, keep pushing for whatever you want to strive for.”
To say Little learned a lot from Melo last season would be an understatement.
