LITTLE VILLAGE — Esperanza Health Centers has received a grant to expand its headquarters in the Southwest Side after outgrowing its previous office.
The grant is for $100,000, but Esperanza Health Centers also received a $500,000 loan from Elevated Chicago for the project. The new headquarters will be at 1900 S. Western Ave., just off the Western Pink line stop, on the border of Little Village and Pilsen.
“Having outgrown our previous administrative space near Douglass Park, we struggled to find a new location that would meet our physical needs while allowing us to remain in the neighborhood we serve,” said Dan Fulwiler, president and chief executive officer of Esperanza.
In a prepared statement, Fuwiler said he was “profoundly grateful” to Elevated Chicago for its support and partnership.
The headquarters will be 15,000 square feet. The funds will help transform the “vacant building into a vibrant, modern headquarters for our more than 40 administrative employees,” Fulwiler said.
Esperanza Health Centers operates clinics in Little Village, Brighton Park, Douglass Park and Marquette Park.
The headquarters is expected to be completed in the spring.
