Ravens coach John Harbaugh isn’t ready to talk about last year’s Titans playoff game, or any previous Titans game for that matter.
At his Monday press conference, Harbaugh said that the Ravens won’t be focused on the last two losses to the Titans, no matter how impactful they may have been.
“I think we’re just focusing on the game,” Harbaugh said. “Previous games have little bearing. We’ve played them many times over the years. We were on the bus ride back and Eric (DeCosta) and Ozzie (Newsome) were talking about 2000, 2003, 2006, 2008, there’s been a lot of games over the years. It’s got some history, the rivalry does, sure. But what impact does any of that have on the next game?”
In November, the Ravens blew a double-digit lead and lost 30-24 in overtime as Derrick Henry and the Titans slowly took the game over down the stretch. Notably, wide receiver A.J. Brown blew through Ravens defenders on a touchdown to give the Titans a late lead.
Last year, the Titans knocked the No. 1 seed Ravens out of the playoffs in a stunning AFC Divisional Round playoff game that broke the Ravens’ 12-game winning streak. In a 28-12 loss, the Ravens were dominated at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and made far too many mistakes to win the game.
It’s been just two days since the Titans matchup was on the docket for the Ravens, and they certainly have been asked plenty about it already.
In the film room, the Ravens will have to look at a few of their previous matchups with the Titans, none of which carry any more significance than the other.
“I don’t really put a percentage on it,” Harbaugh said. “We look at everything, you try to put it together and try to form a plan to attack the team they are right now. I wouldn’t really put a number on it.”
