ALTA, Utah — SR-210 through Little Cottonwood Canyon remains closed Thursday due to multiple avalanches.
The roadway has been closed since Monday night to allow crews to perform avalanche control work and make the canyon road safe for travel again. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen.

"Historic avalanche activity w/ slides across road in multiple locations," a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation says.
Two UDOTvehicles were nearly buried Wednesday as a natural avalanche occurred slid off the mountain and covered the roadway.
"[On Wednesday], two members of our Cottonwood Canyons team were staged in Little Cottonwood Canyon to assist with avalanche control. As they prepared to exit the UDOT utility truck for the snowcat, both vehicles were hit by a natural slide. We are grateful both team members are safe," UDOT spokesman John Gleason wrote.

UDOT avalanche mitigation crews are continuing to clear snow and debris from the road Thursday.
