Little League announced its first-round pairings for the Little League Baseball World Series and the pools for the Little League Softball World Series.
For the Little League Baseball World Series in the Hank Aaron Championship bracket, West A plays New England B and Midwest A plays Mid-Atlantic B on Thursday, Aug. 19. On Friday, Aug. 20, Great Lakes A plays Southeast B and Northwest A plays Southwest.
In the Tom Seaver Championship bracket, Southeast A plays Great Lakes B and New England A plays West B on Thursday, Aug. 19. Mid-Atlantic A faces Northwest B and Southwest A plays Midwest B on Friday, Aug. 20.
The tournament runs Aug. 19-29. The Hank Aaron and Tom Seaver Championship games for their respective brackets is Saturday, Aug. 28 and 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The World Series championship is Sunday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. with the consolation game scheduled for 10 a.m.
The tournament will be a double-elimination tournament as it has been in years past.
The pools were announced for the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina. That tournament will run Aug. 11-18.
In the Jennie Finch Pool will be Central A, East A, Southeast A, Southwest B and West B. The Jessica Mendoza Pool consists of Southwest A, West A, East B, Central B and Southeast B.
Pool play occurs the first five days before the quarterfinals are played Monday, Aug. 16. The semifinals are Tuesday, Aug. 17 and the consolation and championship games are scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 1 and 5 p.m., respectively.
Little League also announced the team colors for this year’s World Series. Instead of region names, the hats will feature the Little League logo and the uniform fronts will say “Little League Baseball” and “Little League Softball.”
For baseball, the primary team colors are as followed:
• Great Lakes A: Royal blue and orange
• Great Lakes B: Red and black
• Mid-Atlantic A: Navy blue and red
• Mid-Atlantic B: Green and white with red
• Midwest A: Green and yellow
• Midwest B: Gray and red
• New England A: Maroon and powder blue
• New England B: Powder blue and black
• Northwest A: White and black with powder blue
• Northwest B: Gold and green
• Southeast A: Golden yellow and black
• Southeast B: Teal and orange
• Southwest A: Orange and white with golden yellow
• Southwest B: Purple and teal
• West A: Powder blue and gold
• West B: Black and blue with yellow
For softball, the primary team colors are as followed:
• Central A: Royal blue and orange
• Central B: Red and black
• East A: Navy blue and red
• East B: White and black with teal
• Southeast A: Golden yellow and black
• Southeast B: Teal and orange
• Southwest A: Maroon and powder blue
• Southwest B: Purple and teal
• West A: Powder blue and yellow
• West B: Black and blue with yellow
