SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - On Saturday, July 24, family and friends said their final goodbye to 17-year-old Shamia Little.

Her funeral was held at Booker T. Washington High School where she was a student.

Shamia first went missing on July 6 at Doug Williams Park. According to police, she was reportedly abducted at gunpoint.

A massive search from both law enforcement and people throughout the city went on for days. Six days later, her body was found in a field off the 4100 block of Curtis Lane between Greenwood Road and Pro Street.

Many people wanted to send their condolences to her family.

“I’m here to support the family of sister Shamia who was victimized in such a brutal way. We are all living the last days in perilous times so we must be aware of the times of what we must do according to the times,” said Brother Andre Muhammad.

“It’s a tragedy my heart goes out to the family, anyone who lost a loved one for violence or what have you, we love another more we can come together and end the violence,” said Reverend Allen Thomas with Peaceful Rest Baptist Church.

As of now, police say they have a suspect but no arrest has been made.
