Vermont Business Magazine New life is coming to 24 Merchants Row this October 2nd in the form of little seed COFFEE ROASTERS, a new member of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce.

Founders Maggie and Anthony Gerakos work with green coffee buyers who source excellent quality coffee and negotiate better-than fair trade prices with farmers and producers. The couple will rotate their coffee selections quarterly, and roast right inside their Middlebury shop and roastery. At any given time, they will have 5 single-origin offerings and one espresso blend available.

Beyond ensuring the coffee producers they work with are being compensated fairly, little seed COFFEE ROASTERS is committed to supporting the wider communities of coffee growing regions as well. Through their ‘You sip, we give’ initiative, the company will donate 5% of their proceeds to non-profits based in the communities from which their coffee is being sourced during each quarterly. They also have plans to give back to their local Middlebury community through financial and product donations.

The space at 24 Merchants Row will feature a coffee bar and ample seating on the ground floor, with a very large communal table at the lower level, perfect for gathering or getting work done. The space is designed to be a bright, joyful, comfortable place for the community to gather.

In addition to coffee, nitro cold brew, and espresso-based drinks such as cappuccinos and lattes, little seed COFFEE ROASTERS will have a selection of teas, botanical sodas, and chai lattes available. Food options will include sweet and savory pastries from local Vermont-based bakers, as well as locally produced yogurts and other seasonal items.

Bags of Little Seed’s coffee offerings will also be available to purchase in the shop and online at littleseed.coffee, shipping nationwide. The roastery operation also has the capacity to wholesale with interested parties. Little Seed Coffee Roasters is committed to making good coffee approachable and offering an inclusive, welcoming environment to the entire Middlebury community.

About the Founders

Maggie and Anthony Gerakos moved recently from Brooklyn, NY to Middlebury to fulfill their dreams of making a home in Vermont and opening their own coffee roastery and shop. The couple has fallen in love with Middlebury and the wonderful, supportive community that exists here. They are excited to share their coffee and space with locals, visitors, and students alike!
