Members of Altrusa’s Community Service Committee recently presented a check to the Little Steps Learning Center, a division of Tobosa Developmental Services. Representatives of Little Steps, Marissa Meza and Angelique Carrasca, were on-hand to accept the donation.
Altrusan Michelle Pruitt is director of Little Steps Learning Program. The Learning Center is founded on the principle that all children deserve quality childcare. The belief is that young children learn through play and exploration of their environment. The program is designed to facilitate children’s learning through a play-based curriculum using tactile and multicultural toys, exploration centers, child-initiated art and a playground accessible to all children. Teachers interact frequently with initiating discussion and responding to children’s cues for attention and care-giving as quickly as possible.
The Community Services Committee presented the $500 check to help buy art and learning supplies for the Little Steps program.
