CLEVELAND, Ohio – In 2016, High & Low Winery owner Matt Snyder told The Plain Dealer: “When I went out to wine country, I just loved it. The wine was phenomenal. The food was fantastic. But my roots are here.”
Now those roots are expanding, to Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood.
Monday, the lawyer-turned winery owner Snyder said in a brief press release that the winery’s second location is slated to open at 12304 Mayfield Road, Cleveland. Grand opening is Friday, Nov. 5.
The winery’s flagship 4,400 square-foot location opened at 588 Medina Road in Medina, almost equidistant between interstates 71 and 77, in 2015.
The High & Low locations could not be more different: The Medina spot sits along a wide, fairly rural county road, while the Little Italy address will be in a more established, urban neighborhood just southwest of Lake View Cemetery.
Last year in Medina, the winery opened a socially distanced fire pit park, which allows guests to bring folding chairs and blankets. Firewood was available for $12 a bundle, along with food and drinks for carryout.
