FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas kicker Cam Little on Monday was named SEC freshman of the week for the second time this season.
The Moore, Okla., native played a key role in the Razorbacks’ 31-28 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday, connecting on field goals of 46, 48 and 51 yards. Twice in the game he topped his previous career long.
In the win, Little became the first Arkansas kicker since at least 1997 to make three field goals of 45-plus yards in a game. And his 51-yarder, a career long, was the longest by a Razorback freshman since Zach Hocker against South Carolina in 2010.
Little, who donates $10 per made field goal to Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, is 14 of 18 for the season, including 5 of 6 between 40-49 yards.
He was also named league freshman of the week after the Razorbacks’ 20-10 victory over then-No. 7 Texas A&M in Week 4.
