Little Giants Dominate The Wabash Wrestling Invitational - Wabash College

Wabash captured seven individual champions out of the 10 weight classes as it hosted the Wabash College Wrestling Invitational on Saturday. The Little Giants placed 29 wrestlers in the top-eight spots over the 10 weight classes.
 
Christian Merrill, Rodney Hendricks, Daniel Uribe, Kyle Hatch, Chase Baczek, Jack Heldt, and Maxwell Bishop each captured individual titles at the meet. Merrill won the 125-pound weight class with a pair of victories. Reece Chapman took second place, while Jaden Bird finished in third place. Ethan Bednarczyk earned a fourth-place finish at 125 pounds.
 
Hendricks scored a pin in his opening match before winning the 133-pound weight class with a one-point decision. Uribe captured the 141-pound title by also claiming a one-point win the championship bout.
 
Hatch earned a first-place finish at 165 pounds with two victories by pin. Johnathan Otte captured second place in the weight class with two pins as his victories in the bracket. Cody LeNeave took fifth place overall with two victories in the tournament, as well.
 
Baczek won two early decisions before scoring a 21-3 tech fall in the finals of the 184-pound weight class to win the individual title. Tucker Coffman placed third in the bracket by winning three matches with one pin for the day. Caden Friedt finished in fourth place by scoring one pin in the bracket. Teo Palubinskas captured fifth place in the bracket thanks to two victories including an opening-round 9-0 major decision.
 
Heldt scored two pins in the 197-pound weight class to win the bracket's individual title. Nick Casad placed third at 197 pounds with three wins including two pins in the tournament.
 
Bishop took the 285-pound title with two pins for the day. Isaiah McWilliams finished in second place by scoring a pin in just 58 seconds in his opening bout as part of two wins on the day. Colin Baker finished in fifth place by earning two victories during the tournament. Alex Naylor scored a 4-2 sudden-victory win to finish in sixth place at 285 pounds.
 
TJ Driessens placed second at 149 pounds by going 2-1 for the day. Cody Snook earned a fourth-place finish with two pins in the consolation bracket at 149 pounds. Jordan Hodge finished in seventh place in the weight class while recording two pins in the bracket. Phenix Carney picked up one win by pin to finish eighth in the weight class.
 
Brailen Harrington scored a second-place finish at 157 pounds. He scored an 18-3 technical fall and one pin during his run through the bracket. Tyson Nisley earned a third-place finish in the weight class. He won three matches including one by pin. Evan Burge place fourth overall with a pin and a 16-1 tech fall. Eric Green finished in fifth place with a pair of victories.
 
Ray Arebalo finished in third-place in the 174-pound weight class. He won two matches with one victory coming with a 16-1 tech fall in the semifinal round. Bradley Harrington earned a fourth-place finish in the bracket with an 18-3 tech fall and a second win by decision in the semifinals. Jake Graden finished in seventh place with two pins for the day, including one in the seventh-place finals match.
