The Little Coffee Shoppe brings more than espresso and lattes to Coral Springs.

Venezuelan immigrants Ronald and Dana Medina came to the U.S. six years ago. They were inspired by the quality of life Coral Springs offered: a sense of security, a family-oriented atmosphere, a friendly environment, and an opportunity to make themselves known.

Although they offer menu items ranging from espressos, lattes, and Frappuccino, the similarity to other coffee shops stops there.

From arepas to empanadas – they offer well-known Venezuelan dishes like tequenos, cachapas,  and other Latin plates like avocado toast and quesadillas.

“The avocado toast is what makes us come back,” said Natasha, a resident of Coral Springs. “Other coffee shops are good, but their food is better. Their service is good too, and there is a cute ambiance here.”

The Little Coffee Shoppe supports and buys the products of other businesses in the city, like the beans they use from 360 F Coffee Roasters in Coral Springs.

The employees of the Little Coffee Shoppe identify as “family,” said Alexandra Riquel, a Venezuelan with a degree in business development who also works as a barista for the restaurant.

“I have been working in this cafe for a year, and my motivation and desire to come to work every day is because they made me feel like I was part of a great family.”

The business’s goal is to offer an environment where customers come first and where both the customer and employees feel appreciated and welcomed.

The Little Coffee Shoppe’s reputation keeps spreading. The coffee, avocado toast, attention to their customers, and the variety of Latin dishes have captured the attention of their customers.

So much that owners Ronald and Dana’s success has inspired them to open a new location in Pompano Beach located at 1172 N Federal Hwy.
