HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Crowds lined the streets of Downtown Honolulu on Thursday afternoon to celebrate the Hawaii team that won the 2022 Little League World Series.

Marching bands, fire trucks and local baseball teams were all part of the massive parade honoring the Honolulu Little League team.

The parade started at Aala Park and traveled down King Street, ending at Honolulu Hale, where the celebrations continued with live music from Rebel Souljahz and High Watah.

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi also held a proclamation ceremony, awarding a key to the city and specialized baseball bats to the team.

Gov. David Ige also held a proclamation ceremony earlier in the day, recognizing the team.

The Honolulu team defeated Curacao 13-3 on Aug. 28 to win the World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. They’re now the fourth team from Hawaii to win the Little League World Series.

The last time Hawaii won was back in 2018.
