Parents were notified of the closure Thursday evening and were told that the playschool officials had contacted the Early Childhood Development & Care Department met with ECECD compliance officers before being issued the closure notice.
Los Alamos Police Det. Jemuel Montoya on Friday afternoon filed an affidavit in Los Alamos Magistrate Court requesting the issuance of an arrest warrant for William Louis Macinnes, 19, of Los Alamos, an employee of Little Forest. Macinnes was taken into custody late afternoon and charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of child under 13 years of age and two counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 years of age.
According to Det. Montoya’s affidavit, the investigation began when a mother reported that her child had told her he had a “sexual in nature incident at school”. The child is four years old. The child was taken for a forensic interview and a subsequent examination. Det. Montoya asked for an arrest warrant to ensure the safety of the public, to prevent flight by Macinnes and to reduce the risk that Macinnes would continue to use his influence and authority to prevent reporting of his alleged crimes.
As of late Friday, Macinnes was jailed at the Los Alamos County Detention Center.
