Amherst continued to fight, closing the gap to 21-19, but that was as close as the visitors would get as the Cardinals finished off a 25-23 victory.
The final set saw Amherst take a 7-2 lead before Maya Lopansri '25 came on as setter and helped bring the Cardinals back into the set with kills coming from Ahearn, Jorba, and Lindus. The Cardinals and Mammoths were neck-and-neck until a service run from Otaola, followed by two straight blocks, helped ignite a 9-2 run to finish off the match.
