CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was arrested after his teenage daughter and his wife were shot to death and his son was wounded in their Little Village home, according to Chicago police.
The son, shot in the ankle, fled to a neighbor's house in the 2600 block of South Millard Avenue and called police just after midnight Monday, according to a police report.
"I heard the gunshots," their next door neighbor Enrique Sayago said in Spanish. "I just can't believe it was my neighbor. I can't believe it was him."
Officers found the girl shot in the face and she was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Her name has not been released.
Her mother, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner Karina Gonzalez, suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The son was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition.
While police have not yet confirmed it to ABC7, information from the family indicated the shooter was the teens' father and the woman's husband.
"The police had been here two or three times," Sayago said in Spanish. He added that the couple had frequent arguments.
Another neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said the surviving teen took shelter on his porch after escaping the home.
Family said Karina is in her late 40s, while the two children are in their mid- to late- teens.
Charges against the shooter are still pending.
