Crews in Lancaster County were called to the scene of a hazmat incident in the Little Conestoga Creek around 8 a.m. Saturday.According to emergency dispatch, the initial discovery of a green color in the water was in the area of Fieldgate Drive and Hershey Mill Road in Manor Township.As a precaution, Manor Township Police notified farmers whose cattle grazed downstream from the location.Peter Taraborelli, Public Information Officer for Mountville Fire Company, says both hazmat and DEP were called to the scene.According to Taraborelli, the source was traced to a retention pond in the 3800 block of Hempland Road.DEP confirms it was a food-grade dye that caused the water to turn green.
