A Stantonsburg man accused of removing a Free Little Library surrendered to Wake Forest police Tuesday.

Police said Alexander James Krumenacher, 26, removed the Free Little Library Nov. 21, from the intersection of South White Street and Elm Avenue.

In response to the incident, Wake Forest police issued an arrest warrant for Krumenacher.

He surrendered and faces charges of petty larceny and property damage.

Authorities said they identified Krumenacher thanks to a tip from a resident and information provided by Flock Safety cameras.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 25, 2024.
