Natalie Portman championed the revival of the little black dress with a sexy daytime look she debuted yesterday, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The LBD was a silky minidress with a structured corseted bodice and a bulbous miniskirt that accented the hourglass frame. While the main piece was strapless, it featured a built-in triangle bralette with sheer cups and frilly black lace on the sides—proving how sophisticated the exposed-lingerie trend can look.
Portman finished the look simply, with strappy black sandals and a red mani-pedi. She wore subtle black liner, a red lip, and pink blush, and had her hair styled down, straight.
The May December star wore another sleek all-black look earlier this week, to the Governors Awards on Tuesday night. It was a silky Schiaparelli slipdress with a chunky golden halterneck chain and a chest cutout. She added some sparkle with Kirsten Drew Jewelry.
Portman also walked the red carpet on Sunday at the 2024 Golden Globes. For that occasion, however, she left the all-black color scheme behind and opted for a dazzling white custom Dior piece which embodied spring. The spaghetti-strap, scoop-neck dress was covered in tiny star-shaped sequins in shades of white, purple, yellow, blue, and green, giving the illusion of a dreamy field of flowers. Portman paired it with Jimmy Choo heels (not visible under the skirt) and accessorized with silver teardrop earrings from De Beers.
Portman was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, for her role as Elizabeth Berry in Netflix drama May December; however, she lost the prize to Emma Stone (Poor Things).
