From: Graduate School
Every year, the Graduate School, Graduate and Professional Student Senate, and the Women’s Center join forces to hold the Little Hokie Hand-Me-Down, an event that offers graduate students and staff with children an opportunity to “shop” for gently used clothing and other items.
This year the Hand-Me-Down will be held on Nov. 15 and 16. Beginning Oct. 17, the organizers are looking for donations of gently used clothes, books, toys, lactation aids, strollers, unexpired car seats, and other items. They also welcome donations of diapers. They ask that all donations be completely boxed or contained in plastic bags. Drop off donations at the Graduate Life Center front desk, 155 Otey St., or the Women’s Center, 206 Washington St., SW. Organizers will accept donations through Nov. 14.
On Nov. 15 and 16, graduate students, staff, and others can shop for free items at the event, which will be held in the Graduate Life Center multipurpose room. Nov. 15, from noon until 5 p.m., is for graduate students only. Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. until noon, staff, other students, and graduate students are welcome to shop for donated items.
